January 2012

Happy 2012! This year promises to be a great year for the Dojo and for EGKA. We are holding the first ever London Gasshuku on 25/26 February at Tiffin Boys School in KIngston which will be a chance for those who have not trained with the senior instructors of EGKA to experience the depth of knowledge within our organisation. This Gasshuku will also have seperate sessions for our Junior members. Please support this event and encourage others to. If you are grading this year for Brown or Black Belt, you must attend this Gasshuku.

We are hoping to have an Overseas Instructor GAsshuku in April so watch this space for details!

The Okinawa World Budosai will be held in July and already quite a few Tooting members have booked their flights and accommodation. This is a fantastic event with the best teachers in the world, the best training, and of course a chance to train with HIgaonna Sensei. The weather and beaches are also pretty good as are the social events.

The calendar has been updated and will continue to be updated as we plan out 2012 so please keep an eye on it.

Reminder, our first event of 2012 is the visit of the Newport Dragons on 28 January, which is a group of Cadets instructed by John Russells Dad. I will be running an extended session from 11-1.30 and would like all our Cadets to attend.

Gambatte!

December 2011

The dojo will be closed on Saturday 3 December as it is the Liverpool Gasshuku. Good luck to all those who are grading, you have worked hard and deserve success!

October 2011

We had a great time at the EGKA Nationals in Stratford on Avon. Congratulations to all who competed from Tooting Dojo and also from across the EGKA family. The standard was high and the spirit shown by all was wonderful!

September 2011

I am running an extra class for all Brown and Black belts which will focus on the grading syllabus given that there are a number of students who will potentially be grading this year. This class will run on Wednesdays, 7.30-9.00, usual lesson cost, and is open to all Brown and Black belts whether grading or not.
